Queer & trans Embodiment

healing happens in community

This space is centered on queer and trans people

To enter into a space where we explore our embodied experiences in queer and trans bodies we must first build a container that can hold us in our complexity to unwind the ways that our bodies adapt and respond to the forces around us and return home to our self and find connection in our communities.

As a white, queer, trans, nonbinary, & neurodivergent person, I offer a specialized container for community support. My practice has a liberatory lens and an anti-oppression framework. So often our ‘healing’ is situated within an individualistic space that ignores all of the cultural context of trauma and oppression. I believe that all of our struggles are connected and so is our liberation. To be in a practice of tending our edges is a practice of dedication to showing up for others. I’m holding this space for you to unwind, explore new shapes, and feel into our authenticity and joy.

As a practitioner I have spent the past 13 years dedicated to working directly bodies as a Somatic Bodyworker. For the past 4 years I have been practicing Somatic Experiencing and supporting folks to go deeper with tending to emotional wounds and integrating parts of self as a practice of the embodied life. I am passionate about this work and grateful to be able to spend my time with all of you and go deep into the mystery that is life.

Your whole self is welcome here

We exist in a world that doesn’t see or acknowledge us.  We become fragmented versions of our self.  We do what we can to protect ourselves even when sometimes that means living in a mask.  And when we come together in community we can unguarded just a little bit more.  Shed some of those experiences that bind us.  And get back to who we are underneath it all.

Affinity space is so vital.  Being born into a world that can not hold the fullness of expansive gender, sexuality, and neuroqueer experience means being subjected to cultural oppression in which we are conditioned to fit into identity molds that can not hold us.  We experience violence against our very nature and to exist we must first survive by contracting and bracing for this reoccurring impact.  As we re-orient to our truth, we untangle those toxic shapes and bound instincts we uncover the authenticity of our true selves that wants to feel free to just BE.

Relational magic is potent.  When we come together we get to step into a flow-state.  There is a set of values we share that augments that space to be dynamic and flexible.  Gender, sexuality, ability, body size, skin color, body hair, status, fashion & all of the ways our body can show up in a space is welcome and celebrated.  When we get to arrive with this as our standard we get to focus on what really calls to us on a deep soul level and not spend energy on bracing and guarding and feeling drained and othered.

Resonance: witnessed, heard, felt, transformed.  When we hold space for being in conversation with our embodied experience we can feel what it’s like to be witnessed without opposition.  We can go beyond identities and labels and words and thoughts (things that are both helpful and limiting) and tap into a wholeness that is beyond definition the felt sense of our embodiment authentically.  We get to re-define what anchors us to our truth so we can move towards how we want to show up.  We get to become the version of our self that hasn’t happened yet – and start feeling it now.  This is the practice of getting free by embodying liberation.
